Hey guys, I just purchased a brand new 6 gallon tank for my office. Im thinking about using some of my water and substrate from my 40 gallon at home. What is the best way to do this? Is such a small sized tank a bad idea for a saltwater tank? Also, I want at least two fishes. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

No i dont think it is a bad Idea. Some will disagree but since you already have 1 I dont see any problem. I would take water and substrate and add them to the tank wait about a week or so and check it every other day to make sure it doesnt spike. Which I doubt it will. Anyways then add your fish. I think a clown and host would be kool but dont know if the tank is big enough. You might be able to do 2 gobys.

I would suggest a Flame Hawk and some type of sifter Goby....maybe a Tiger or a Blue Cheek.
Later!
GOOD LUCK :D

a clown and his home would be cool!! get a carpet or a saddle, just make sure you have some lighting on it. but since the tank is so small (not to be mean) it owuld be cheep to give it great lighting!! NO's would work fine on a tank that size.

I have a seven gallon nano reef on my desk at work. I purchased LS but I did seed it with sand from my other tanks. I also used about 15 pounds of LR. I did seed the new tank with water from my 55 gallon reef. I transfered coral frags from my other tanks. I thought about having two fish, however, in the end I went with one 3 spot damsel. (My entire office call's him "spot") I went with one due to the cleaning issues. I change 1 gallon of water per week and I only have to clean the glass once a month.
It is really fun to have this little guy at work.
Good luck,
Connie
