New 70 gal reef build

I recently got a new 72 gal tank and am looking to set up my first sump . Space is an issue because of the cabinet. I am only going to be able to have a 10 gal sump so i am looking to get an external return pump . How do you go about choosing the size of your pump? Any recommendations?

A good rule of thumb is turn over rate of 10x the tank volume. Plus you need to figure in head loss, which a good manufacture will give you the GPH of that you just need to know the height.

3-5x is "normally" general rule of thumb as far as turnover rate......10x turnover rate through a 10 gallon sump is disastrous......
