Well I have a sickness and Im bored out of my skull in this Maryland Winter. I decided to spend my money and bought a great little set up. Mega meal steal deal.
Almost brand new 75 gallon with wood stand and a Current USA Orbit Power Compact Light, 4x65 watt 2 daylight bulbs and 2 actnic bulbs plus Lunar LED light fixture for $250.

I cant decide what to do and I feel like us predator folk get along pretty well in this scetion of the forum. The light fixture is okay for some corals. Nothing hard/core like a clam or anenome.
I love lions but I think its too small for the life of the fish and I dont want just 1 fish in the tank. Its a waste of space.
I do want to set up a sump system. Can I drill the bottom and install a over flow or two. I Plan on painting the back black. I could do a hang on back oveflow or are they junk? What would be a good skimmer?
Picture of tank is below.

If i were you I would put a bunch of the smaller damsels a sixline wrasse or two and a smaller eel.
Might not be as aggresive as you want but I think it would look nice for a just for fun tank.

I thought about that. Like fimby or a DME or BME. I just dont want to spend the coin on a DME. Cause if it didnt make it Id hang myself

you gonna try a fimby AND a BDM? you know you wanna, you should then let me know how it goes so I can. It's so hard to pick eels, they are all so awesome and I want a huge tank for just eels.

LOL! You instigator. I would put only 1 eel if i did that in the 75. Its going to take me a few months to set this up. I need to clean it. paint it. Drill it. Buy the sump system and then add rock.

If I was setting up the tank, I would do some softies a couple big colt corals in particular, maybe a hammer or torch. Then a nice aggressive stocklist that shouldn't mess with the corals. Mine would be as follows:
fuzzy dwarf lion
goldentail morey
arc eye hawkfish
indigo hamlet
maybe a toby or large clown
and 5-7 green chromis to add some movement
As far as drilling the tank goes it depends on whether the bottom is tempered. If you know who manufactered the tank you could contact them and find out, if it is tempered then you can't drill it. The HOB overflows work just fine you just have to keep the tank a little further out from the wall so it doesn't like quite as good

That is actually a really good idea Chuck. I know I want to add some soft corals. They are fun. Im actually in the process of turning an old 30 into a coral tank for my clowns that I have in my nano. Thinking of adding a goby or two and a flame angel. It a breeder tank.
