Jugger - really? Is that typical behavior? I was under the impression that green brittle stars were reef safe( I heard the red ones sometimes would go after a slow fish which is why I got the green) and wouldn't go after my shrimp. Now I am worried - I *really* like my cleaner shrimp.

Well dangit - I must have read wrong before I bought it - I had a choice of the brown one too but couldn't remember what I had read - I must have gotten them reversed.
Are the chances pretty high that the star will eat the shrimp?

IMHO, I think it's a hit and miss thing. Green brittle stars are known to be more predatory than the browns and if you search this board you will see numerous posts on it. Some say if you spot feed them, they are less likely to mess with other livestock. Others say they are just opportunistic and only eat something that was already sick.
Hopefully our resident researcher and shark will give you a little more info when she comes along.

Thanks for the advice, I think I am going to try the spot feeding on it and just keep a close eye on things - I did have a sick fish and the star didn't bother him before I got the fish in the QT, maybe I got a lazy one :)
Thanks again.
