1rst I usually clean it up a little before photo's but I'm not that bored but it could be worse.
new additions (really not that new anymore just never took pics)
blasto wells and deresa clam

superman monti

orange with pink and blue center zoas

old stuff
crocea clam top view (being directly under the bulb kind of difficult to get a good shot)

I went on a couple day vacation labor day weekend and besides forgetting to fill my auto top off reservoir (which only seemed to kill some palythoa for whatever reason) my hammer went on a killing spree. ever since I placed it above my once green mushroom rock I noticed it developed sweepers (never had them before). well when I left the rock was covered with large green mushrooms. when I came back NOT A TRACE! I have several other mushrooms and colonies so I'm pretty sure it was the hammers work. it been acting funny still
note the mushroom rock under the hammer

and gone two days and look at the rock now! not a trace. and if you've never seen a hammer with sweepers there it is

more coming

Xenia june 2nd (I thought was long killed)

Xenia now sept 5th. you can see the hammer sweepers as well

purple cap july 15th

purple cap now sept 5th. you can see the pink star polyps growth as well

green milli and blue staghorn in june

color has faded a bit but boy has the blue staghorn grown and milli to the right

that little yellow green piece in the above photo is a piece I accidently broke off of this monti digita. stuck it in a hole in the rock now its starting to grow. it was just a small thin stick

and lastly a nice current center shot (not much different then the last pic thread but oh well)

Nice pictures. That's too bad about your mushroom rock. It looked beautiful before the hammer put the hammer down on it.

that's crazy about your hammer coral..
.... what type of lighting do you have??? looks nice and clear. nice tank by the way!

thanks! I wasn't too upset about the mushrooms, the only reason I didn't trade them is because I thought they were so plain nobody would want them.
I have a pair of 175w aqualine 13k single ended halides. thats it. I keep the more demanding stuff out the center but LPS, mushrooms and the clam still do okay there. tank has no center brace so that really helps it look uniform with only two bulbs and 6ft.

Nice pictures. Is your hammer also getting your zoos? Looks like it from the picture showing your shrooms gone. Or maybe something just rubbed up again them in that moment. Regardless your tank looks great.

I didn't remove it or anything it came from AGA that way (tank was made in 1989). Glass is very thick and the tank weighs a ton. Plus its only 19" tall. I figure if it hasn't broken since the 80's its sturdy.
azfishgal, trigger11, Mach03InFront,trippkid, myreef05 1rst off thanks! I dont think the hammer can get close to reaching those palythoa on the big rock that are messed up. I have another small colony just like it across the other side of the tank and for whatever reason when I came back after two days both were in bad condition. I think they just reacted bad to the auto top off not functioning. Its weird because everything seemed fine and the minute I leave for just two days a little hell breaks loose. my sump was low but not like empty low. the only reason I think it was the hammer that killed the mushrooms is because there isn't even the slightest trace and all my other mushrooms are fine. I have never had corals disappear in thin air like that before. makes me not want to go anywhere more than overnight.
