New additions to the tank. Is anything wrong with the first coral?

Here are a few new additions to the tank.
The first one was sold as a colt coral but looks like a blushing finger leather? Also, the top of the coral is shriveled up and not looking good. Cant tell if its shedding or not doing well. I saw a small piece fall off. Any thoughts? All others look great.

i have a similar piece of the first pic in my tank...it shrivles up like that when i move things around in the tank, do water changes, and sometimes just becasue haha, for me its kinda hard to tell. i belive its a colt but im not sure as idk what mine is for sure but expect it to increase about 10x the size it is in your picture when fully opened. mine is an inch max when shrivled and 8-10" tall when fully opened. it is a pretty hardy coral so i wouldnt worry about it just yet. fast grower fun to watch!!

Thanks for the info. The LFS told me that the prior owner brought it back because it was too large for his tank. Although he never mentioned what size the tank was! ha
I have plenty of room for it to expand in its current area so hopefully it will start expanding. Its been in the tank for 7 days now.

7 days wow...and it hasn't shown any signs of life??? I'm not an expert but I feel like it should have opened up a little by now

Are you sure no one is picking at it?
I have a colt coral and fully opened it was almost 2 feet tall. Then all of a sudden it started to shrink. I found out my pink tail trigger was picking at it. The trigger has been removed and the colt is starting to recover

I have watched and do not see anything picking at it. It does show some signs of life as it does shrink and expand but nothing huge yet. The majority of the time, part of it will be shrunk while another part is expanding if that makes sense. Water checks out fine but I went ahead and did a 10% water change a couple days ago just to see if it helps. I just checked on it and it looks the same. It looks like it is shedding a layer of skin on part of it and the other part looks fine so not sure if I need to relocate it to a different part of the tank or just leave it be for now. Currently its on the bottom in medium flow.

these guys are sensitive and when mine gets hit with a stronger flow it retreats. try putting it in a low flow area.
also, did it look like this when u got it or was it opened up fully and closed upon transport? and do you have it positioned right? it looks like the majority of the stems want to extend sideways when they should all be pointing towards the light

This is what it looked like when I purchased it. It actually sits funny on the rock its attached to so I will adjust it so the stem is more upright and see what happens. thx

Here is a picture I just took. I doesnt look any better. Actually one of the stems it appears to be getting worse. The finger leather, ricordea and xenia are all doing great which really confuses me since I have always had good luck with the colts and not so much with xenia in the past.

Well its been a long battle but the colt coral is finally starting to look better. Im not sure if this was the issue but I found two aptasia on the rock just below the coral so I would guess they were stinging the coral causing the issues. I blasted them with boiling water a few days ago and they have not been back. The coral is starting to look better and is no longer shedding. However, the coral did loss a good bit of its overall mass.
