New Bta Question Please Help!

HI all. I bought a BTA two days ago. I placed it (or guided it) to a spot on my LR. Then about an hour later, it went inside the rock. I took it out and placed it back where I originally placed it. It was then fine and was there all day today. When my lights went out, it was on the move again (with my clown following it
) So I placed it back to its original spot. I was afraid it would sting my coral. What do I do? How long will it take for it to find a spot it likes? (well, I guess it will never find it if I keep moving it.) Any help would be appreciated!

Leave it alone, your just stressing it out by moving it. It ~ not you ~ will decide where it wants to go. Again leave it alone, but observe. During the next couple of weeks it will be acclimating to your lighting and water chemistry and moving to find a proper place that it likes. It's all normal, it's even common for a BTA to run to the back of the tank and stay out of sight for a while. Just be patient..

Thanks Thomas! What do I do if it gets too close to my coral? I have a large finger leather and some green spotted shrooms.

I wouldn't do anything. If you are worried about it stinging your corals then you shouldn't have gotten him. But since you have it then don't worry about it until it happens. I've had many soft corals that my BTA's do not bother at all and they have snuggled up to many of them before. Results may vary.

OK. I think that the BTA found a spot. The problem is... It is in the back of the tank! I can't see him unless I look around the rock or over the top of the tank! Will it move again?

Maybe!!
BTA's like to have their foot in a hole in the rock toanchor themselves and will sometimes disappear completely into the hole if stressed!
Leave yours alone (and he'll come home??) Ah, where was I?
Oh yeah, Leave it alone. If it has settled there, you may have to turn your rock around because more than likely it is rooted to a hole in the rock somewhere. Or of course, you could turn the entire tank around so you can see it?!
