We just bought a new 31 dollar yellow butterfly fish and put it in our 65 gallon tank which has a beautiful angel and a tang. Immediately, the tang took off after it(we have 70 lbs of live rock to hide, btw), but we thought this was 'normal' for a new fish. The butterfly fish is mostly yellow, so we thought it was thinking it was another tang. When the angel was introduced, the Tang also went after it, but gradualy accepted it. So, we thought the same thing was happening here. But after 2 days or so, the butterfly just went to the top corner and hid, and the Tang was relentless. Well, today we noticed that the butterfly was punctured(by the Tang), it only lasted a few hours more.
Was it murdered because it was yellow..like the tang? the butterfly was gorgeous...and it was so gentle, serene. Damn TANG!
