New Cam, pic of star.

Got a new dig cam. This is the best picture I have so far. For some reason, which I don't yet understand, if I turn the flash off (so I don't p!$$ off the star) the picture is blurry. If the flash is on, the pictures turn out fine.
Anyway this is my brittle star. He used to be bigger, but he's doing good.

Nice shot.....perhaps the camera self adjusts the exposure time....without a flash the shutter would be open longer to collect more light?? I have no idea. Half the fun of a new camera is trying to figure it out.:D

just play with it. Take a bunch of pics in different modes. Try macro with all the different flash types. My cam has three different flash modes. Just try everything out until you find the best way to take a good pic.

make sure it is in focus-put it in macro mode and use a tripod if you have one- keep the camera as still as possible

If I put it in macro mode it's really blurry! I don't have a tripod. I've tried each flash mood, if there is a flash the pic is good, if there is not flash the pic is blurry. The stars staying still, so it's not the star moving.
I'm going to try to play with the flash in macro mood. Of course the stars aren't out tonight so that takes away the fun of playing with it.
I'll go play and see what I get. I don't want to upset my stars with the flash. Which is why i want to be able to take pic's with flash off.

put it in macro mode- then you need to step pack a bit until it comes into focus- you have to get the focal point right and you are too close

I'll try, the star is hidden right now, but I'll try when I see one of them out. Thanks.
