New Canon G6 Need Tips

Well, I got a new camera for Christmas, which was great, but I need some tips if anyone can help me out. Also, I'm sure that Powershots in this class of camera will be similiar, so folks who have exp with this series, I'd appreciate some advise. This camera did not come with tip of how to take certain types of shots.... .:thinking:
Q. 1: How do you adjust the flash for tank pics? In my old camera, you just did not use flash, but I don't seem to be able to figure out the adjustment on the G6

If it is the same as my G5...and I think it is...there will be a selector that looks like a lightning bolt...use it to change the flash setting from auto to full to off. Plus in the owners manual there will be information on other flash adjustments. For most tank shots I have the flash disabled.:thinking:

Gosh, I've been looking thru the menus all day for something and its right on top of the camera.
