New Clam Discharging; Is it Normal or is it Stressed?

My crocea clam that fell off its rock twice has been having some clear stringy discharge in the last few days... its been in the tank about 2 weeks.
After the first 2 days of it falling I decided to leave it in the sand, trying not to stress it out.
Any hoo... just wondering if its normal for the discharge IF is isn't in a medium flow to blow it away.. the slime is not stuck to it, but is stuck on a rock right next to it. It is near an area of low flow... thats where i keep my xenia and anemone, zoos...
It was under the Mh, where there is more flow to whisk away the slime.
So is it normal... or is it stressed?

my crocea also kept falling out of the rocks, and is now on the sand bed with his foot attached to a piece of LR. no stringy stuff, but he seems to be doing fine.

Sliming occurs on the mantle of the clam when the clam is stressed... It should not continuously slime, but if it did when you first introduced it to the tank that is normal... If you're talking about a stringy discharge from the base, that is most likely the old foot... Most clams when being removed from their sandbed will shed their "old" foot and grow a new one of new "threads" and they will attatch wherever the clam is comfortable, whether it be on the Live Rock or in a sandbed...

Well this is coming from the foot or bottom of the clam, not the top. It has been in for a couple of weeks now and after the first 3 days of it falling off the rock I decided to keep it where it landed in the sand bed. it has moved on top of some xenia... the short stuff not the long. I have noticed the clear like slime coming from its base for about a week. do you think it is planting its foot? the crocea shoot a toxin or something i thought to plant themselves?
I don't know if its stuck to the xenia rock... i really want to put it back up under the mh's on the rock.

If I clam keeps "falling" off a rock, its not happy there... If they consistantly open and shut rapidly, they're trying to move... How strong are your MH's??? You may not need your clam directly under them... Crocea's do slime if agitated, like I said before... If they are being stung by other corals, or you do a water change, something like that... Really you shouldn't be moving it enough to see the bottom... I would check to see if you have something knocking it out of the LR, ie. hermit crabs, sea urchin, something of that nature, and if nothing is knocking it down, just see if it likes it better in the substrate... I have 4 clams in substrate and they're doing awesome!!!

It jumps off on its own I saw happen both times. It is sitting on xenia would that hurt it? also i did do a water change this past weekend. my lights are 250 x 2 and 150 x 1 of mh and 130watt of pcs. but...... my tank is 30 in deep.
here are some pics.
should i get it off the xenia? but if it wasn't happy there it would move, right?

i did try to remove some but it seems its still is doing it. I think I am going to move it into a higher flow
