Clams are cool, he will do just fine, Try not using the flash see if it helps just use tank lighting..

krichardson, try to get a top down shot of the mantle. Hopefully after a while it will open up a bit more. If it doesnt, the clam may have pinched mantle disease, but dont worry quite yet. Let it get settled, and try to get a mantle shot, preferrably the gap in between the shells.
