NEW CLOWN FISH at the top why>?

Lost a clown fish a week ago so i bought another one and ever since putting it in the tank it isnt swimming around like it should, it keeps at the top and swims down and then back up and down..My other clown is trying to hard to keep up and be friends but its jus acting weird. someone please help.??

What kind of clowns are they?
Usually clowns dont "try to keep up and be friendly" I have a clarki and a tomato and the tomato bullied the clarki until he finally hosted my green carpet anemone
even if they're the same species they will need to establish dominance.
also my clowns swim all over the tank

I had a new clown do the same thing until they establish their dominance the lesser of the two will act weird, he should be fine, as long as the new one is smaller than the one you already have, this is important when introducing a new clown fish with one already in the tank. My female beat up the new comer for a couple of days then she accepted him, good luck.
