Want to install a new cooling unit to my tank.
No more commercial aquarium chiller.
Would a 9000BTU with 1.5 titanium Coil be enough for my 240gallon system?
what would be the recomended capacity be for such a unit?

9000 BTU = 3/4 ton...seems like a big unit to me, but I'm not a refrigeration expert.
Commercial aquarium chillers are typically classified by hp of the compressor motor, and that's how I typically size them. For instance, a 1/2 hp chiller is typically a 6000 BTU unit, while a 1 hp chiller is generally rated at 12,000 BTU. We run a 1/4 hp on our 100 gal + sump system and it's fine.
Are you planning to run it as a drop-in or a plumbed in system?

I don't have much experience in water cooling as that is not my area of practice but one thing I'd look at first is how much heat are you needing to remove from the water...10 degrees, 20 degrees?

as the tank is running without any chiller it sits at 31°C so to bring it to the required 26-27°C range it will have to bring down Around 4°C
Also how to decide on what capacity pump to feed it with?

Well, going by recommendations of some of the manufacturers out there I would think that a 6000BTU unit pushing approximately 500GPH through it would be plenty enough to cool your tank. Again, not my area of expertise here but I would simply just try to mach the system as close as possible to the commercial brands that are recommended for your size of of tank. What's wrong with the commercial units?

I had a Halea 300 first the probe broke giving me an error message.
Easy enough fix. Then the cooling media leaked so that was a bit harder fix.
Now with adding the new sump and fuge I added just too much volume for the tank.
I tried and had a larger motor installed but still too small.
The unit the are making now would be anough for about 800Gallon so well in reach of my now 240Gallon system.
Also bought for the future as this unit will be the back up unit for my 1400gallon system

with some adjustments later on.
