Ok, what type of LED's are those they look like screw bulbs? And your fixture stand looks homemade? Is there a dimmer what watt bulbs? I need details. I like those lights.

hehe those are indeed screw lights....the two white top ones are ecoexotic and the all black one is rapidsLED. Theyre just par38 bulbs. They run 3w crees. The rapids one is tuned down to 2w's though =(. I bought it that way. No dimmers just on and off....i know the orphek ones are dimmable but theyre a bit more pricy. I did make the stand and the fixtures to screw em in! Currently im running all leds on both my tanks and i love it!
My other tank has a stark led fixture... i ordered it straight from iron mans factory!

I like those bulbs- I was looking at them the other day. Dont really think they would work on my tank though. Too deep.

I found these bulbs on line they say there = to 150MH (the 3watt), the only thing is that what I have read that LED light the max par is at 12" away from source. Your stand looks higher than 12", just a concern.

so ive done some playing around with a par meter and cant remember wat the numbers where...but the light penetrates the air fairly well...its when u hit the water and below that the LEDs start to lose it!
Teresa the ecoexotic ones come with 40deg optics so they are for deep penetration (
)! The rapids one came with 80's so its a way more far spread out light...i should have got the 60's but hey that seems to be the way i learn lol!

Good to know (about the starting at the water line). I don't own a par meter, so I think the manufacture should have there readings for us the end users if they want to sell us there lights.

ya prob with that is the retailers will most likely over rate their equipment anyway. I dont own a par meter either but someone on my local forum offered to do a lil testing on leds so i invited him over. Tunze is in a big lawsuit right now in germany over them overrating their equipment. I didnt look into cuz i dont really care lol, i use korillia!

things are going good...i grow sps under em. Ive got a green milli coloring up now! Only problem im having is i need to acclimate my coral to em. The last few pieces ive noticed dont like it when i place em high up in the tanks right under em. I need to start acclimating to the LEDs.
I lost a birdsnest in my other tank....mostly to not enough flow i thinks but being right under the LED fixture burned it i think too!
The bulbs are 24" above the water! The closer u put em the more of a spotlight effect u get! Im thinkin ill get another one soon...on ebay they have the ecoray ones with 15leds...their only 1watters though....but more of em so im thinkin ill try it out!
