New coral care questions...

I know never buy before you know if you can keep it, but I recently aquired a finger leather and 2 trumpet corals.
The leather has never really looked good, its shrunk down, discolored, no polyps open. No matter where I put it its not happy, what are the ideal conditions for these guys?
Same basic question for the trumpets, I have a purpleish color one and a green one. The purple seems to be doing the better of the 2, but the green is still doing very well. What are the ideal conditions for these?
Thanks guys!

I keep my finger leather fairly close to the top and it receives a decent amount of flow. When I first got it, it was bleached pretty bad but has since colored up nicely. If I'm not mistaken most leathers like a good amount of flow. Here's a pic if you want to see where mine is placed (It looks almost white in the picture but is more of a reddish brownish color when the lights are off).

The height might also depend on what kind of lights you have. Mine is under 440 watts of VHO. I don't have any experience with the trumpet.

Well, I moved it higher in the tank, only by a inch or 2, and pointed a koriala 1 at it about 4 inches away last night, so Ill see how it looks when I get home from work today.

Well, absolutly nothing I do seems to please this leather....... High flow, no flow, lots of light or under the ledge of some rock, its just not happy.
Any other Ideas?
