New corals!

Last weekend I made a trip to my favorite LFS in Lubbock...naturally the folks there had a couple of corals that I simply could not resist!!!
The clove was large and after months of seeing specimans that simply did not look healthy this one was in outstanding condition. Matter of fact another customer offered me $20 to just let him purchase it (no way...sorry bud!!!)
The alveopora was fully extended and a beauty.......its color is a creamy off white and it opens full every day....my other alvepora is more of a encrusting type this new addition is branching and has 9 seperate heads.....I am extremely pleased with both additions! I've GOT to find a way to stop going in to see the folks at this LFS....every time I enter I find the perfect addition for my already over crowded reef!!!!

and finally another of the clove polyps....this thing is the size of a softball when closed and more like a football when fully extended!

NM...nice as always. That alveopora is really sweet! I don't think your tank can hold much more, can it? It must be packed by now. Looks great!

Actually I could squeeze in a few more with maybe an aquatic crowbar!!! Some of the corals are getting pretty large and space is definitely at a premium!!!Thats why I've got to stay away from that dang LFS.....every time I walk in and the owner is around he says..." Hey man...I've got something back there that your gonna love!!!"...dang him and his selection of corals!!!!! This past trip he even had several small clams that looked real healthy...but my system just is not ready for clams...yet! He did have a couple of decent looking fox corals...I am in the market for one...but there appeared to be some tissue recession and damage on the ones he had. IF I do get another coral it will probably be a healthy fox....or maybe a frogspawn...or even a new hammer to replace one I lost a few months back! Sad thing is the LFS owner knows I am interested in them...and when he gets one in thats in good shape he will e-mail me...then off I go to locate the aquatic crowbar!!!:cool:
As the wife says..."At least you don't drink excessively or waste your money on drugs!!!!":rolleyes:

yeah man thats a beauty of an alveopora. great shots. all the fox corals i ever see in lfs's by the way seem to have some degree of tissue recession. i have never seen a truly healthy specimen that is opened fully, and w/o any tissue loss. how weird is that? great pics man, keep em coming!

Man can I relate to what you are saying. I have to force myself to stay away from some of the LFS or else I am coming home with something.
Hey I like your wifes outlook. I will have to use that sometime. Although my wife really doesnt have a problem with me buying stuff for the tank.
If those clove polyps are anything like the ones I got they will be spreading like wild fire. In about 3 months time mine have completely covered the rock they were on and have spread to two other rocks.
