new filtration method

I was reading in a magazine today about a new filtration method called the mud-filtration method. The magazine did not give much info on how this system worked. But, it did show a pic of Steve Leng's (the guy who came up with this method) tank and it was gorgeous. How does this system work and is it worth it?

hmmm... I was just at a web site last week that talked all about the filter. The material you are talking about is called "Miracle Mud". Here is a link to the manufactures website. EcoSystem Aquariums You should be able to find a lot of information here!

Hi! My husband and I have the ecosystem filtration system and it is fantastic! We have had it set up for two months and there is so little maintenance required! Our pH and other levels have been right on target from the beginning and all we have to do is occasionally vacuum our substrate (requires a very thin layer) and add water that is lost through evaporation. We currently have six fish and a few snails and crabs and they are doing fantastic! If you are in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area, the Seahorse pet store in Allison Park on Route 8 can tell you all about it and they carry them in stock.
