New fish in QT, not eating.........

Hi I've set up a QT and put my new BLUE HIPPO, Mandarin and Zoe frag in it. FIrst question is
Does the Zoe & a Mushrm frag need to be put in QT for 2wks?
I know there is the shipping stress and everything, the fish look ok but not eating this is day 3 in the QT. All water param are good.
Any help is always welcome.

The mandarin will need copepods to eat. What are you feeding the tang? What are the water readings in the QT?
The frags can be quarantined to be sure that nothing destructive or no parasites are on them, but they should really be in a separate tank. If the tang has parasites you will not be able to treat him with the frags in there. Also, if the tang does show ich then the frags should not be moved right into the DT. While ich cannot host them, they can be resting on the surface and be transferred into the DT. The mandarin doesn't really need to be QT'd.

I have tried feeding brine shrimp, myst shrimp, flake...............
the tank parm are AMMON-0, NITRATE-0, NITRITE 0, PH 8.3

As sepulation said, I would just put the mandarin in the DT along with the coral. Try clipping some algae sheets in the tang with a feeding clip, and see what happens. To try to entice it at first you should cut the algae sheet into little strips that it can easily eat. If that doesn't work, I would call the LFS and ask what they fed it and if it was eating at all.

well, mandarins feed on copepods and they require a well established tank to survive and thrive. If they are in a bare bottom, empty QT for a long time, they could starve. It's more likely for them to get sick while in QT than when they are eating normally in the DT.

how big is ur hippo? I heard somewhere that if it's 3" and smaller they eat phytoplankton and it's really hard to get them to actually eat pellets.. could that be why?

nah mine is about 2" it eats algae and Reef flake.
I got one almost week ago. Read some links and got help here also.
Does it have somewhere to HIDE? Tang is shy like to hide. Is it flashing this can be sign of stress. He ate first day, then hid some. Second day would get food and run back to hide. 3rd he would check the tank out and hide some. Now he comes out alot and looks for food. They can hide few days not eat. Depends on the fish. I drip aclimated to around 4 hours.
The not eating can be stress, no where to hide or just not what it wants. Try some algae or Nori. You can get nori where they make sushi or store etc.
