New fish

I am buying a gold banded maroon clown this weekend and am also doing a water change.
My question is... will I be ok if I use some of the water for the change and put it in a 10 gallon so I can quarintine the clown for a few weeks?? What would I need to do beside filter it, heat it and keep an eye on the water parameters??

Of course, just don't forget to acclimate the new fish. I use some of my old water to hatch brine shrimps.
