So I went to my LFS about a week ago and bought a clarkii and a cardinal fish. They assured me that they would be fine together. Well I woke up one morning to a horror scene. The clarkii had had bitten off all of the cardinals fins and the fish could not swim any more. I took him out and flushed him cuz I couldn't watch him suffer. I then called the LFS and they told me to bring in the clarkii and they would refund both of the fish. Now getting the clarkii out was another story. It took 45 minutes to get that dang thing out. I had to take apart the tank! So I finally got it and took it back and they sold me an aquacultured Picasso clown and a half yellow damsel. I was very hesitant to get the damsel because I read they can be quite aggressive and territorial. The LFS again assured me that they are a nicer and more peaceful species of damsel. So I got it, I noticed that the damsel was very very territorial with the clown. It would sit in the rocks and when the clown came ANYWHERE near the damsels rock it would go after the poor clown. the clown is stuck swimming along the front of the tank with the currents and back and will only be allowed to sit in the corner of the tank. The rest is for the damsel. I really don't want this to happen again because I love my Picasso clown alot! So should I take out my damsel and bring it back? Or is it just kind of a new fish thing and will cool down. I need answers fast cuz I don't want this poor fish to suffer
