New (for me) food

Has anyone tried the IO grazing blocks?

There was a free sample in the IO reef crystals bucket I got for $45. I thought that I would try it since Falcor devours the algea clip every day. I took it out of the package and it seemed a little slimey. I put it into the tank on some rock, as suggested, and the current blew it off the rock. I tried putting it back on the rock but it split in 2. I managed to get one of them back on the rock and the other rested on the sand bed. I watched for a little and nothing came over to take a bite. Some snails came over and didnt stick around for long. The next morning both pieces were still in there and un touched. Guess I am tossing the other 2 pieces I have away.

It took about 3 to 4 days before my critters realized the clips with algae sheets were food...I wouldn't let it rot but maybe give it some more time...Can you clip it with the algae sheets to get them started on it?

I just got 3 packs in because the new fish I bought reportedly were eating them - but SO FAR - the new ones ignore it, and my tang collection in the 475 (which eat ANYTHING) hit it but spat it out...I did NOT just place the whole thing in the tank as directed - but took a tiny "baby spoon" and scooped some out and dropped it onto the surface....the newbies in Qtine have not touched it in 3 hours now - and like I said - the tangs kinda didn't care for it, though some was eaten by some - other tangs spat it out. Will try it again some, but so far - it's not a winner.

One difference - mine sayz "marine grazing block" and the contents of the cups is red and looks alot like frozen formula 1. They just dont hit it like they do f1...or anything else.

It's friday nite (treat nite) and they get a little raw collard greens in the clip - which they attack!.

They'll have this chunk of collards eaten down to the clip in 20 min. or os.

Mine was green with a white gel on it. Maybe I will try it again. I am just happy I didnt pay for it.
