new FOWLR tank

Need some advice from all of you experts. We are setting up our first saltwater tank and so excited. I've read (and learned) so much from this website. Just want to make sure that I'm on the right track. We have a 90 gallon aquarium that we just set up this weekend. Put in a lot of base rock and sand and now we're waiting for the dust to settle before we start mixing the salt and add the live rock and live sand.
Here are my questions:
I just bought an Aqueon Pro 250 watt heater. I was planning on buying 2, but it says on the package that it is for aquariums up to 90 gallons, so I'm planning on testing it out and seeing how it works. I can always add another later. Also, I'm planning on getting 2 Hydor Evolution 1050 GPH Power Heads. Is this sufficient? Any other suggestions/advice is welcome. Thanks!

Is this a 90gal long tank or a corner tank? You should be mixing ur salt and water in buckets and testing and dumping it in the tank....but its watever i guess. Ur most likely killing anything that "live" on the rocks and sand if its full of freshwater! Place ur heater in the middle of the tank so the heat disperses evenly and covers more water if that makes sense...

p.s. welcome to the site....glad u showed up instead of watching....creeper lol j/k

It's a 90 gallon long. And there isn't anything live in the tank yet. I haven't added the live rock/sand yet. Just base rock/sand. And I read on this site that it's okay to mix the salt in the tank the first time that it's filled up. Hmmm...

your fine doing it like that since you only have base rock and dead sand. I would let it mix a few days before adding you live rock though, just to be sure your SG is correct.
Pics would be nice.
