OK, I have heard about 10 different things about where to keep a branching frogspawn. I got a 24 gallon Nano JBJ with the stock lights. 2 - 36 watt PC.
Should I place the frogspawn on the botton? on the top? where? the tank is 19.5 inches deep with 1 1/2 inches of sand.
Anyone with some experience with the Frogspawn....where do you keep yours?

72 watts isn't enough for a 24 gallon?
I have a 75 watt MH clip-on but was trying to keep my hood

The clip on would be better, much better, but i think you can do the hood loghts too and have it be healthy.

OK, I will try the clip on this weekend and see how everything reacts. But the original question was the placement in the tank. Top, bottom, middle, etc.......any suggestions?
Thanks,

They can be kept anywhere ur lighting and flow is good. You dont want to much flow on them just enough to keep it swaying and u want nice bright lights on it. I have mine on my rock near the bottom of the tank.

I got up this morning and put the 75 watt MH on the tank. After about an hour....well look for yourself...

I have the same tank that you have, kalied, and I've successfully kept a branching frogspawn for 3 months now just using the light provided with the tank setup. I keep mine at the bottom or lower mid range (about 3" off the floor). What you do have to watch for is too much flow. It wants to gently sway but not be blown about so that you can see the "bone". Mine loves little bits of squid or shrimp. It's great fun watching it hand off the meat piece to it's mouth. It's starting to branch another head now too. Every 2 to 3 days I feed it phytoplankton. I turn off the pump (it goes limp) and gently squeeze plankton underneath and lightly on top of the frogspawn. You will see it sort of pull in it's tentacles - it's eating. After just a few minutes (5 at most) I turn the pump back on. The frogspawn spreads out and seems very happy.
Enjoy!
