New guinea puffer and romaine lettuce

New guinea puffer when I bought him ignored lettuce to supple him some greens. Newfish introduced and I tried lettuce again and puffer went nut. I has gone through 2 huge leaves per day for last three days and ets some and litters tank with pieces. It is clogging mechanical filter. Is this normal behavior. Any tricks in preserving mechanical filter from overload Thanks Gretchen

Lettuce has no real nutritional value I think for fish...try some krill or silversides they would like those I think

we use romaine lettuce for our tangs to supplement their diets my huma likes it too. we also use the seaweed selects. I have found the seaweed selects is even messier. I usually net out what is floating around the tank after awhile.
