New Gun!!!!!

I bought my wife a Savage 7mm-08 with Accu-Trigger for Christmas. It has a short barrel (not sure of the length). I got it from a guy at work for $300. He has had it for 6 months and only shot it twice.
I also just ordered a Burris 3x9x40 scope. It cost $234 and comes with a GPS.
She doesn't know she is getting a gun for Christmas. I told her we had to wait till next year. Man she is going to be excited.
Also, the Savage has a black synthetic stock. Tina wanted a rifle with a zebra print stock. What kind of paint could I use to paint this design on the stock? I don't want to buy another stock if I don't have to.

Thats a great caliber too. I highly recommend to season the barrel to increase the accuracy.
Shoot 2-3 times
Let cool
Punch the bore
shoot 2-3 times
repeat above. That will help season the lans and groves (a practice called "leading the bore") to increase speed in spin of the projectile.
You might have a hard time getting a paint to stick on a synthetic stock. Will def. need to be cleaned with a degreaser.

as for the paint, i believe the same paint used on cars is what they use to custom paint guns. I've seen it done in some really wacky ways. u'll have to post pix once u paint the thing, that's gonna look rockin.

My Uncle owns a Collision Center here in town. I can get it painted for free there. They use only the best paints.
I did some shooting with my Browning Medallion BOSS 25-06 this last weekend. I was trying to find the "sweet spot" setting on the BOSS for the rounds I use. I was able to drill 6 shots in almost the same hole. The grouping was about 1/8". Man I love my BOSS!
It has near target gun accuracy and made for hunting!

I sold my .300WSM Browning BAR with Boss and a Leupold scope. I couldn't see the need to have $1,300 gun that I used only a couple of times a year.

The 25-06 BOSS and .300 Weatherby Magnum were both handed down to me after my dad died.
My dad paid $1,500 for the .300 Weatherby Magnum back in the late 80s - early 90s. He bought the 25-06 for $1,200 when they first came out and also paid $500 or $600 for the Redfield Illuminator scope at the same time.
I don't think I could ever bring myself to spend that much on a gun. My father was very passionate about rifles and hunting. He always wanted the best. He only owned 3 rifles in his life. I have 2 of them. He sold the other to his brother in Georgia. It was a .270, not sure what model.

I miss all my rifles I had. I had to get rid of them because of an assult charge I picked up. I had a savage 7mm mag, 6mm vamit gun, lever action 306, 270,
my .22 from when I was a kid. 22-250 AR full auto, pistols were 9mm, .45, 44 mag, deringer .22. I started colecting guns when I was 21 basically. I really miss them and cleaning them. Most of all the hunting. I have to hunt with a bow now. I am going to see if I can get my case exponged since it has been over ten years now since the charge.
Hott, what do I need to do for that? Could you give some advice to me please.

Ron, I have no idea other than seeing a lawyer and asking about it; or taking to the Police. I can send ya some jerky if that would make you feel better. Ha!

TX Reef, that dear sure looks good....im hungry on top of the weather being really cold out here in cali (49degrees F) all of you living in the colder states dont laugh lol
By the way, what is the GPS for along with the gun? You got all that for less then 300?

A gun topic.....cool.
Now I can ask my question. I'm not extremely gun savvy; i've never bought or owned a gun. I've shot a few though and find it fun. My good buddy is a gun fanatic and I'm wanting to get him something special for x-mas. I've came across a good bit of cash and am willing to dump some coin on a good handgun. I don't know if this is an unrealistic goal or if it's even possible but i'm thinking of looking for a used Desert Eagle or something similar. I don't even know if anyone would sell a used D.E. or if you have to be a trader or collector to own one. I guess I could settle for a different brand, but i'm looking for the largest caliber handgun I can find.
Any suggestions?
