I have (had) an established 220 gallon tank for about 4+ years. The system is a Oceanic custom built tank with 2 overflows, and a Oceanic Model 250 sump which has a 1200 GPH pump and a UV light. Due to a recent addition of a sick trigger all my fish (4+ years old) have died. The only thing left in the tank is a choclate chip star fish, a green sea serpent, and a snowflake eel. IMHO the Oceanic 250 sump system is a flawed design and I am about to replace it with a Oceanic Model 3 sump, a second UV light and new skimmer.
With that in mind I am looking for suggestions on a new lower half for this tank. If you guys/gals were building a dream system what would you recommend?
BTW, I learned a frustrating lesson about purchasing fish and dropping them directly into my tank. I just setup and a 72 gallon bow front tank for QT and am waiting for it to cycle but hind site is 20/20 right?
Thanks,
Gary
