new help with ich

I have a powder blue tang in my 200 gal reef tank for about 2 months now. it started to have ich on its fins about 3 days ago. This morning, most of its body and face are covered with ich. I don't have a quarantine tank yet. I have an empty 50 gal tank, but don't know what do I need in terms of filter, live rock, substrates, etc to start my qt tank.
I have read that I don't need LR in the qt tank, but how do I go about controlling amonia and nitrite? Can I just use a emperor Bio-wheel power filter? But since this is a brand new setup, can I start treating my fish right away with either copper or hyposalinity? My main concern is since this is a brand new setup (quarantine tank), amonia can kill my fish.
Please advise and if possible, please provide me with every possible details how to set this qt up and how long before I can put my fish in the tank to start treatment?
Many, many thanks in advance.
Please help a fellow fish/reef lover....

There is a lot of info, including subjections on QT, and ich, in the FAQ Thread at the top of this forum. You realize you will need to treat all your fish, correct?
