Hey what's up everyone! I'm new here been reading the board for a couple of days and have gotten some really good information from here which is helping me with what will be my new tank a 38-40g but figured i'd post a picture of my current 12g that I have had for about 2 months. Don't have any fish or anything else really in it just about 16lbs of LR and 20lbs of LS. I just put in a Rio 200 power head which I like and have moved things around a lot so its pretty cloudy when it clears up ill post some more pictures. Tell me what you think and any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the boards!
To attach pictures you can do it locally
First resize your image to 500x500 or less. Then you can use the attach file feature when you are writing your post.
TaDa!!

Yeah there's a Rio200 in the upper left hand corner and then my filter output is on the right side of the tank in that picture.

Cool- it was hard to tell from that shot.
They are almost a necessity for these little tanks.
Looks like a good start though!

Yeah it's not the greatest of pictures it was really clear before I started moving everything around and stirring up the sand so once it clears up again i'll post some more pictures I promise.

No big deal. It happens. How long has your tank been up now?
Are you using good water?

It's been up for about two months now...
Ph - 8.4
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 0
Salinity - 1.023
The initial water setup was all bought pre mixed stuff and since then i've done my water changes other than a little battle with some red algae it's been pretty good.
So not too bad so far, Im still afraid to put anything in it for some reason though....

I would bring the salinity up to 1.025 and add some hermits and snails.
I have a pretty big cleanup crew and they help alot.

Reverse Osmosis and Reverse Osmosis/Deionized water.
It is a must for all marine setups.
At the very least used distilled water. Usually you can see how the water is processed on the label.
It will say Reverse Osmosis Deionized or something like that.
That could be why you had or have a problem with cynao(red slime)

Well I use water thats been purified from our tap system so it's not too bad but thats a good idea to just buy the water.... Here's some more photos it's cleared up a bit!

This is just a suggestion, but you might want to rearrange your rock so it's on both sides of your tank. I think the inhabitants would like that even more. Great looking tank so far! :D

I'm not completely done adding live rock so that's why the right side is kinda empty... That piece in the center i got today to start spreading the rock accross the back of the tank. Couple more larger pieces and the right side will fill up so i'm with ya on that one! Thanks!
