I got my new Hippo today. My velvet damsel is backing up to it and them smacking it with its tail violently. What is this?

it is the damsel attacking your hippo tang. probably due to territory. what size tank is it?
i would get the damsel out either way if you want your hippo tang to survive

It's a 110 gallon reef. I have tried and tried to remove the damsel. No luck. Don't want to remove all of the rock.

No, didn't quarantine. I know you should, but I haven't set up an extra tank. Any pointers on setting up a quarantine tank? How big should it be? What should it have in it?
I'll try the fly hook. It's probably the only thing I haven't tried yet.

My QT is 20 gallons with 3 pieces of PVC in it. I'm pretty sure my Yellow Belly Hippo that I brought home on Saturday has ick. I'm still keeping an eye on it to see if it's the dust floating around the tank. Will start hypo tomorrow if I'm seeing the spots in same places tomorrow.
This hippo came from ick free system where it was for 3 weeks in QT.

my yellowtail damsel does the same thing to all my new arrivals... he stops after a day maximum... I have a fairly chill damsel, but I'll probably get rid of it before I get all my LR and LS.
