This maybe a silly question, but I just started a new tank and have 2 anemones that I put into my 250 gal tank. I put a Florida Condi on one end of the tank and a Magenta Sebae at the other end. This morning they are both in the middle of the tank side by side. I am afraid that they will attack one another. Is this possible? In my sons tank that happened once before and one died asap and the other one lasted 2-3 days later, before it died too!! I do not want this to happen in my tank, $$$$ . Also I have 1 clownfish in my tank, could I get another one to put into my tank, so both anemones are getting attention and feed? Or will the 2 clownfish fight one another over the anemones?

Welcome to the forums.
Yes, anemones can apparently sense each other and wage war. That, and the fact that they can randomly decide to wander across your prized corals makes them Non-Reef Safe.
Anemones feed primarily by algae within their tentacles. That's why strong lighting is a must for anemones. Anemones don't need clowns to feed them.

There are no Clownfish in the Caribbean, so a Condi is not a natural host for them. Any Clown species can choose them technically though.
Interesting aside, in the wild Damsels do host Condi's sometimes.

Help! Since my last posting about my anemones, I moved them apart from one another, so they wouldn't attack one another. Well they moved to each other again. Just 1 week ago my Florida Condi dead. I came home from work and it was all melted ( looked like a goo pile and was falling apart), so I took it out of the tank, and boy did it stink.
I was afraid it would kill the rest of my tank with the toxin ( Someone told me this) in it's body once completely dead. Now, I went away for the weekend and my wife and kids feed my tank while I was gone. Today and I came home from work and my Magenta Sebae looks like it is dying. My clown fish just went into it and small pieces of it are floating off of it everytime he dives into it with some food that I just feed my tank. Note: Every Sunday I feed my anemones, sea fan, and some green plants ( don't remember the name of them, not important) Premium Reef Blend and 1 small cube of frozen brime shrimp. Would that be the problem, over feeding them. I feed the rest of the tank 2 times a day. Once in the morning and then in the evening. My lighting is on for @ 12- 14 hrs a day. I also have 3 flow devices going , so I believe I have a good current going thru my 250 gal tank. Anyone know what I should do? I'm not to computer smart, so when My daughter gets home, I'll have her take a picture of my Magenta and try to post it, so hopefully someone has some good advice.

HELP!!
Since my last posting about my anemones, I moved them apart ( Thanks for those of you that repied to my last posting!
) from one another, so they wouldn't attack one another. Which they were on top of one another, when I separated them. Well they moved back towards one another again, and I moved them apart again. Just 1 week ago my Florida Condi stared looking bad, and within 2 days it melted to a pile of goo and falling apart. So, I took it out of my tank and boy did it stink!
I was afraid it would release toxins within it's body once it completely died ( which I was told would happen) . Now, I went away for the weekend leaving my wife and kids to take care of feeding my tank, and when I got back, the Magenta Sebae was in a ball and not looking to good. I just figured that it was feeding. Today , I came home from work and it looks worse than before. My clownfish is diving into it with food that I just put into the tank to feed my fish, and small pieces are falling off of it. NOTE: Every Sunday I feed my anemones, sea fan, & some greens ( which I don't recall the name of, which isn't important) Premium Reef Blend, and 1 frozen brime shrimp. Plus I feed the tank 2 times a day. Morning & night. Am I over feeding the tank. My lighting is on for @ 12-14 hrs a day. I also have 3 flow devices going in my tank. So I believe I have good flow going thru the tank, for my anemones in my 250 gal tank. Anyone know what I should do, or look for??? I'm not computer smart, so when my daughter comes home, I'll have her take a picture of it and try and figure out how to post it. That way everyone can see what it looks like to try and help me out. THANKs!!!
