Thanks for the info! Is the diet for the blue angel the same as a queen angel?
The picture is from the first day I put him in the tank, and the scratches from the net are already gone.

Where do you guys find these fish over there in PB, FL.?

There's no way you would find an angel in the Gulf!

yup, the more south you go the more variety, i see french angels, grey, queen, blue, pygmy angels, butterfly fish, all kinds of wrasses, just off the inlet, and under bridges.

You can tell on Blue/Queen juvi angels by looking just above/below the tailfin on the fish. The Blue Angel will have a yellow 'edging' on the fin, as where the Queen has blue 'edging.' I pointed in the picture with the red lines to what I'm talking about. The only thing is on extremely small Juvi's, Blue's haven't had these colors form yet. However it's illegal to collect Blue/Queen's under 1.75", so it shouldn't matter.
The diet of Blue's/Queen's are virtually the same, lots of sponges.

I don't feel so bad now, I saw juvi blues online for $25.
Where do you find the restrictions on collecting these fish? Can I just go out to the beach and collect whatever I catch?

The restrictions are the the FWC site but I Cannot find the link right now. The queen and blue angels have to be over 1.75".

But if they are over that you can just keep what you catch? I guess I better look as see what is actually close to where I am...lol.

This is for recreational collecting (collecting with the intend not to sell), and you need a saltwater fishing license. But other then that, read the regs and have fun. You can only take 5 angels at a time, and within the size limits.
Problem is I am in North Carolina so I am going to look ours up. I doubt we have all the cool stuff you guys have.

I live in NJ and during the summer people see butterflys and angels off our shores, so NC should have a ton of stuff, i would think atleast.
