if you purchase live uncured rock, bring it home then cure it, form what im gathering its going through a cycle then you add it to your tank why would the tank have to cycle again?? i am a little confused because i have a new 45 gal with 10 lbs of l/s and 50 lbs of cured L/R and tonga branch. My l/f/s said the tank would through a very small cycle if any but many people here say different. any help would be great -the bag of sand said just add to the tank then add fish no cycle needed????

Because of all the die off from the LR, it causes your tank to cycle. If your currently cycling your tank and have no livestock in it, then just add the rock to the tank. You will probably see a spike in your levels. Cycle your tank before adding any fish.
