This is very odd.....When I got home today the tank is at 78.....last night it never got below 80
so I guess the little egg crate lid, and the fan is working

Meowzer I was inquiring if you noticed any type of spot lighting affect with the fixture being mounted that close to the water surface?

Thanks, I needed that chuckle before bed.
So the whites have optics and the blues dont. That might be a reason behind the 'so much blue' effect you are getting. If you are happy with it, it seems you are, then dont change it. You might want to find out what degree the optics are and consider a replacement if the optics are too narrow.

IDK it looks to me that she is getting good coverage, don't think I would change any of the optics.
Are you noticing any coral, specifically SPS, bleaching or turning paler at all?

I don't have any sps in this tank (yet) the shrooms, zoas, torch, kenya, etc....all seem the same

i wouldnt change any of the optics because wayne had these set to cover the 54g perfectly with the right amount of par. in the center he was able to keep sps frags on the sand bed. wayne kept sps just fine too. if you're not experiencing bleaching, try adding some frags to see how they react.

Yeah.....I'm not planning on changing anything....I do have a couple of sps frags in my 225g frag rack....I could move them to the 54G frag rack...hmmmm
