New Light Strips in 55 gallons newly setup????

I have 55 gallons newly established salt water tank. I'm using a 50/50 one strip 55 watts (in a 47inches hood). I need help from you guys whether I should get a second strip of light if I were to put some more live stones along with some inverts and tangs. I also have plan on getting more corals in 2 to 3 months from now. Please let me!! Thank you!!

first off, welcome to this board! is it a power compact or regular bulb set up? if im not mistaken the 48 in strip lights are only 40 watts, unless the are very high output, in which case they would be 110 watts.
if you are worried about having to have more light for live rock, then no, the lights you have are fine for just live rock.
when you want to have corals or any other light dependant inverts, then i would suggest and upgrade. look around this board about lighting, there is a ton of info.
the biggest thing is to go slow and have patience. hth and good luck!

First of all, thank you for replying my forum.
After checking I only have 6,000K 40watts light. Sorry about misinformation up there. My tank is setup wiredly and it doesn't have splitter in the middle. So i can only have 1 long bulb. I was just wondering if it will be ok to use 10,000K (http://www.petsmart.com/fish/shopping/saltwater%5Faccessories/light%5Fbulbs%5F%5F%5Faccess%5F/products/product%5F804.shtml) instead of 6,000K when I get my corals. I know some questions might sound stupid becauseI have no experiences with salt water tanks.I will be very appericated if you guys can help me out. THANKS!!

imo depnding on what u want to spend i would go either a vho reto kit and build a conopy out of wood or if u want a real good setup do a metal halide kit u can save money and still have rock then upgrade 1 time and be all set rather than upgade then upgrade again do yourself a favor and ask alot of questions on lighting before u upgrade i did and endedup going metal halide combow and am very happy i did and thanks to all the guys on this bb that helped me figure it out
