new lights dont look as bright ??/

i just upgraded lights i had 2/55 pc 50 50 bulbs and a 35 watt ho atinic i changed to custom sea life 2/175 mh with 2 pc 65watt 7100 atinic i bought hood used with bulbs it doent seem as bright and looks quite blue the atinic are custom sea life they were new in box dont know what the 10k are i amagine csl do mh look less bright to eye i am definatly changein the atinic i have the light up about 18 inches from tank is that to far <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" />

18"is a bit too high.You should drop them to around 6-8inches from the water...This may be alot of your problem...

I agree with Mr Salty. At 18", the bulbs are barely penetrating the water. Move them down. 6" to 8" above water level is all you need. That will definitely make a difference.
Also, were all the bulbs new or just the actinics? If the MH bulbs were used, maybe they need replacing.

Two 10k's???Are you talking about the MH's???If so,good choice there.These are the same bulbs I have over my 130.I Love 'em.
