New Lion

Picked this guy up this afternoon...
He was sold to me as Pterois miles, however I'm still not quite convinced... They said that he was collected from the Red Sea, which is right on, but having 11 dorsal spines rather than 10 kinda makes me think P. volitans. Anyone have an idea as to which species he is?
He's about 4.5-5" and a lot more purple/black than in the pic...
I'll try to get some better pics next week, but tonite I am going to shut down the lights a little early tonight so he can get used to the new tank... (60 hex, no tankmates, except for a couple sessile inverts... Kind of an accidental quarrantine tank...) I'd better mention that this set up is only for the next 2 or 3 months, lest I start a flame war :thinking:

That's a volitan... could be a black volitan. Awesome fish.

love the lion.. i think that might be the third fish and probably last fish i add to my tank.. that is after i finish with getting the second very cool lion though i couldnt have passed that up either

I've been feeding him frozen krill, silversides, squid, shrimp, Ocean Nutrition trigger formula, (cubes stay together when thawed, and has different ingredients from other frozen foods... trying to give a good variety), He's even sucked down a couple peices of dried nori... I soak all of my fishes foods in in zoe and selcon once a week for some added nutrition.
I've only had him for a few days now, but this is what he's eaten so far. I usually buy a little of whatever is on sale in the supermarket's seafood case and give that to all of my guys as well.
