New LR... use the skimmer or no?

Just got 40lbs LR from Gluf-view... looks great.
Here is my ?
My tank has 20lbs LS and a 50 lbs bag of SD sand.
Put the 40lbs LR in yesterday... no fish or inverts. While the rock 'cures' should I run my skimmer or not?
Anything else I should/should not do?

i think so and i also recomend using carbon while curing lr

I got 120 lbs. of live rock and ran my skimmer the whole time, I asked a friend at my lfs and thats the info I got and all went well...........Please tell me your not a Yankee fan !!!

What kind of skimmer is it? I did not run mine and all went fine. I think it will be fine both ways

IMO , not to skim, but there ae others here who do, but for curing and cycling(which you may be doing), i would not use it until the cycle is about over
