New Member hippo tang disease question.

Hi members, I just added a new profile today, my husband found this site and he knows that I like to discuss issues on forums because I always get good information. I have a hippo tang and have had her for several years. She was given to me by a friend that didn't want her anymore and she was smaller, much smaller then. I have a 75 gallon and did research, asking the owner of a pet store store and reading something about them in a book, if she would do ok in my tank. Now after reading some things on these boards, I see that my information was incorrect. But that's not the issue right now. She has been getting uglier over the course of the last year very gradually. I hate to ever medicate my tanks but something is wrong and it's becoming very obvious now. It looks as if her skin is eating away. She acts the same and eats well, but looks terrible. I have before and after pics that I will add here if I can figure out how. If there are no pics added then I didn't figure it out and would love for someone to tell me how.
Anyway now that I have learned that she needs more room I will be looking into a bigger tank as soon as we get moved at the end of summer.
I was told that she has fin rot but that was just by description. I've started to change the water more often and I think it's helping. Thanks all for reading all of this and for any advice I can get.

Dear hobbyist, this is a deficiency called HLLE .This problem can be corrected if the fish is given more vitamins that are found in greens,or foods high in essential vitamins . Get some Marine- A ( Hilkari pellets ),then get some Vita-chem . Soak the pellets in the vita chem ,and the pellets will swell . Then feed it to your tangs and other fish at least 3 times a week, and HLLE will heal over a period of time depending on the severity of the erosion .I've had the same problem, and a friend at a lfs told me to give this a try, and it really works . Also, feed your tangs seaweed, its high in vitamin c ,and is necessary for their coloration . Enjoy the hobby !
