Hey everyone,
I just found this at my LFS, it wasnt expensive and so I thought I would try it. Its an attachment to your powerhead in yout tank. There is an impeller inside it and it is gear driven to rotate it. What it is supposed to do is simulate and actual current in your tank. I dont know if it does or not but what I do know is that if there were any areas in your tank that didnt have flow before it will after putting this on. The only thing that moves this piece is the force of the water pushing into the impeller inside. This adapter moves every inch of water in my BioCube. There are various attachments to the end for all types of power heads. Just thought I would pass it along. I know there are other items out there that do this, but I dont know how much they cost. This adapter was only $20.00.
I posted some pics......
1st 3 are at different stages of rotation, and the last is just to show where i placed it in my tank. :joy:

We have added something very similar to our 29 gallon biocube as well. I find water circulation much better, all all the corals , fish and inverts in my tank seem to be doing so much better....any one else out there with similar experience?

Got one in my 29BC. I clipped the rim on the edge off. Just think it looks smaller. (maybe a bit more phallic though

In the upper to middle. I also added some Loc-Line to split apart the return so that some goes to the Hydor and some to just a regular nozzle.

Not my design. Got it off of another thread on another site. There are many modifications for the BC29 that help to make it better. I picked some of the easier ones to incorporate into mine.

Does it rotate? It looks good I want to take the stock nozzel off the one that comes out of the tank and split that one. I know this sounds nuts but it appears to me that your nozzel is suspended in the water what is it attached to or am i not seeing this clearly? Sorry.
OHHHHHHH IC Now never mind yes very very cool that is exacly what I want to do with mine. Where did you get a Y splitter for the end of the nozzel?

Hi Bill,
To my knowledge there are a number of different power heads that this will fit on. They give you 4 adapters in different circumfrances to adapt too the appropriate size. Will it fit all power heads? I cannot say but it fit mine.
The name of it is, Wave Maker Flo Deflector by Hydor. Cant post urls here but it's pretty easy to find.
Good luck
