well i recently got asked by a co worker if i knew anything about fish tanks. of course my answer was i have a 75 gal fowlr. anyways i talked him into getting a salt water tank while mine has been a little negleted latley and he has got me back into my tank. so im looking to get rid of my current fish and to start fresh, i also installed an ro into my house and also upgraded my light. im looking to get some input on my stock list and the order i need to put them in
right now i have
choc chip star
black bar
porc puffer
cinnamon clown thats got agressive
i want to keep my puffer but im looking to add
long nose butterfly
kole tang
rusty angel or coral beauty or flame angel
clown with a starter anemone
what do u guys think? any u would add take away???
thanks in advance for your input

The new stocklist looks pretty good. Make sure to add the Butterfly before the tang.
The issue I see is going to be the Porcupine. He will eventually outgrow the 75gal, both in terms of size and bioload. Also once they start to mature, they can get aggressive, to the point of eating tankmates. I would definitely see concern mixing in a more passive clownfish, like an occelaris/percula, with a Porky. As I've told other people, there used to be a video on youtube of a porky that had nearly finished off a yellow tang that wasn't much smaller then him. Mixing them with more passive reef fish can have horrid results.
BTW, what was the "Black Bar" on the now have list?

So you've never had coral before? You may want to get some zoas mushrooms or palys for the tank and see how that goes for a few months to see if your tank would be ready for a nem.

yeh, as far as a starter anemone is concerned, BTA's are usually the easiest to care for. but they do require a matured tank of atleast 6 months, so dont rush into things with the anemone.
and a porc puffer can grow to something like 20". will outgrow your tank, maybe when you start afresh you could upgrade to like a 180g?

the tank is 2 years old. the black bar is really a Big Eye Soldierfish. as for the puffer he is pretty big he is well fed and doesnt bother any of my snails , crabs or even the star fish i have as of yet. i got the ro unit to keep up with doing a lot more water changes to keep the nitrate down where it needs to be due to his size. we really like our puffer and would be hard pressed to get rid of him. does it matter when the angel should go in ? what about ordering fish off this site. i know i have a good bio load in the tank but in order to make the shipping worth it i would have to get 3 fish. would that be alright? also mayb thinking a blue hippo tang. ive heard you can have more then one tang as long as the body style of the tangs are different?
so for the list im thinking
porc puffer
long nose butterfly
kole tang
rusty angel or coral beauty or flame angel
clown with a starter anemone
blue hippo tang?

thats over stock bigtime man
the puffer is pushen it anyway
kole tank blue hippo tang and long nose butter fly get resanably big i know the blue hippo dose and if i not misacking requires a 100 gallon tank are larger adult size
the bio load on that tank is going to be out the roof and the fish arent going to be happy once they get mid to full grown size. and 20 gallon water changes wont help on that much bio load. i have i have large fish in my 75 and thats a russle lion and a singapore angel. i did have a yellow tang but had to sell him he got to big for the tank
