HAS ANYONE HEARD OR USE THIS NEW MUD FILTRATION? I KNOW IT COST A HECK OF ALOT OF MONEY FOR A FILTER. IS IT WORTH IT? CAN YOU MAKE IT YOURSELF?

IMO, it is not worth it at all. The thing that makes the "ecosystem" work is the caulerpa macroalgae. I would just get a sump, fill it with caulerpa, and put lights on it 24/7.

WOW. I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS SOME SPECAIL LIGHT THAT YOU PUT ON IT. `I THINK I MAY LOOK IN TO IT LATER THIS MONTH. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT TYPE OF BULD I WOULD NEED?

Not really, but I would guess a 6500K 50/50 VHO or PC light would do fine. It probably also depends on the size of your sump.

I AM GOING TO DO SOME MORE RESEARCH AND FIND OUT WHAT IS INVOLVED AND GO AHEAD AND ADD IT TO MY FILTRATION SYSTEM. MAYBE I CAN SHARE WITH MY FRIENDS ONCE I GET IT TOGETHER. I DONT SEE PAYING $800 FOR SOME MUD AND PLANTS. I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE PRICE FOR WET DRYS.....THEY ARE CRAZY. JUST BUILD IT YOUR SELF. THNKS MY FRIEND

If you want to mimic the macroalgae part of the Ecosystem, look at this website to start your research:

It gives the lighting they use.
