hey all, its been a while, anyways, i just set up a new 5 gallon mino bow nano, its been up for about 4 days and i started it with R O water and livsand, i have 6 lbs of LR so far and all the water levels are good, i heard that the livesand is instant cycling would itr be safe to put in any life yet.. or wait?

live sand is not an instant cycle. It does establish bacteria quicker and will help things along, but it will still cycle. My tank cycled in about three days, I used a lot of both LR and LS.
If it were me, I would wait a week, run some tests and see where things are at.
I dont think I would add anything yet.

I have a 6 Gal (set up for about 3 months), mine took a month to cycle. I thought it would never end! I thought the smaller the tank, the faster it would cycle. (That's how it normally is). I think it's because I used CC and only 2lbs of LR when cycling. I definatley wouldn't add any fish or inverts. Your tank shouldn't take long with 6lbs of LR and LS.

When I set up my 10 gal I used sand & rock & even water out of an existing "mature" tank. While it appeared to cycle in a couple of weeks, it still took about three months before it stabilized. Nanos are kind of like bonsai. Takes lots of patience, there are no short cuts.
