New Peppermint Shrimp MIA!

I added 3 new Peppermint Shrimp to my tank the night before last (Tuesday), drip acclimated for about 2 hours, and they seemed lively and moving arround when I placed them in the tank... I havn't seen "hind nor hair" of them since....
Are they "nocternal" so I need to look after "lights out", or are they just hiding in my 80 lbs or Live Rock? Should I start to worry that my Hermit or Emerald Crabs maybe had a snack of my new Shrimp?
Good Water Parmaters:
Amm=0, Nitrite=0, Nitrate=~10, PH=8.1, SG=1.025, Temp=79.5F...
Tank is a little over 2 month old....

I would not worry to much about them. :thinking: I have 2 in my tank. I rarely see them. For the first 2 weeks that I had them in my tank I never saw them. They will usuall be in the holes of the LR, or hiding.....

i would not worry. they are nocturnal although some may be trained/learn to come out at feeding time. i cant be sure i even have one anymore as when i moved rocks around i moved his hiding spot out of view. but no aipstasia so either he is still alive or at least he got rid of my pests.
unless you hunt for them you might never see them in 80 pounds of rock.

I saw one of mine for the first time yesterday in 3 months. Never seen him in that time and he is in hiding again. Ha!

I see mine about every 3 days when he comes out to beg for food. That's when I drop extra food just for him, otherwise he wouldn't get any since all my fish are hogs. He's learned the routine. He's a pretty cool shrimp if I can only see him more often. When I don't see him for a week then I start to worry, but then I see a carcus of him. I thought he was dead, wasn't sure if it was his molt. But I saw him a couple of days later begging for food. So I was very glad it was only a molt. He wouldn't touch aiptasia at first, I had to rid them with joe's juice, but he decided to eat'em one day. I haven't seen any aiptasia since. :happyfish

probably still around. I'd only really worry about the emerald crab getting him. I have about 120lbs. lr in my 55. I dropped him in, he went into the reef, popped back out for a second as if to say, "I'm ok," then went back in and haven't seen him since!
