Josh, it is not necessary to turn the filter off during feeding time, but yes, you can. It wont hurt anything. Just remember to turn it back on!

u got it adam, i kinda have to though bc the current is that strong it just gets sucked right into the grates

my yellow belly cracks me up, he bit me today for the first time when i was hand feeding him and it drew blood, then what does he do, he swims up and down really fast acting like he liked doing that to me

LOL! Puffers are idiots. Gotta love them though! By the way, be careful handfeeding puffers, their teeth are VERY SHARP, especially when large. Luckily, yours is just a baby!

Ya, I dont turn off my filter when feeding. Actually, I just looked and there is a piece of krill stuck to the bottom grate LOL. ANyways, I turn of my powerhead when feeding stuff like frozen foods, but thats it.
Someday I would like to have a Panther Grouper.

they are truly really cool fish and someday u will have one and enjoy it for a long,long time

I know...I am just too good.
But yes, the teeth on Pufferfish are quite impressive...even if you do use crest white strips on them.
