New QT Tank

I have set up a 10 gallon QT tank for my Clownfish. I had a 170gph powerhead in it for a few minutes. Seem to be "blowing" the fish away. Now I have a 60gph powerhead. There is a hang on the back filter that came with the tank. Will this filter and pumphead be adequate for my needs? Do I need to aerate as well? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Nicole

With my 20 gallon I just had a hang on the back filter with no media in it. Do you have any hiding spots in the tank?

I have 2 QT tanks (a long story!) one is a 20 gallon with a small powerfilter (penguin mini) for aeration & filtration along with some live rock (would have to remove to treat disease). The other is a 10 gallon with 2 sponge filters. They both work fine. Water parms are great and have had no problem with QT'ing new fish.

Thanks NAS. I have a piece of PVC for him to hide in. How did your filter work without media in it? Were you just using it to circulate the H2O? Will my water be aerated enough with the 60gph powerhead and the filter? I am going to go hypo. tomorrow so I want to be sure everythings OK for the long haul.
Anyone?

The filter worked great for me. I just got done QT'ing my six-line and clown goby and they did fine. Your setup should be fine. Also what are you using to measure your salinity and if you have not already read it there is a great FAQ stciky at the top of the Disease and Treatment forum.

Thanks again, NAS. Im going to have to rely on my square hydrometer. I've read most of the stickies, I'll reread that one to be sure. And I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks Droth,
I hope my sponge filter works, too! Clowns seem happy. I'll keep a close check on parameters to be sure all is well.
Thanks again,
Nicole
