LOL. THANKS.
I did all the work on the stand. Then I added the handles to match my entertainment center stands so everything ties into the room. One of my buddies told me I should get into the reef tank business. I think i might.

Im still working on the canopy as we speak...
here are a few pics of my progress and here are the plans I designed for my canopy. I did a few mods to the plans but stayed 95% on point. I decided not to make doors. Im tall enough to reach over the canopy to feed. I made the canopy out of 1/2 inch Oak plywood and 2x2 studs to frame. The Canopy only weighs about 30 pounds (VERY LIGHT). At this point Im filling in any inperfections with filler and caulking. Next step is a light sanding and stain.

on your canopy, is that 2 metal halide pendants or 3?
Two HQI's. I placed so that they cover the center of the tank where my coral are located. Next step for lighting is an atinic VHO 72" light. Im over having moon lights. but maybe I'll change my mind and pick some up later. lol

Im learing something new everyday. Its not so hard if you have the right tools. I placed the plans so anybody can build it now.

That canopy looks great. is there any way to get inside?
Its the new style, open top canopy. I can reach right over and feed or change bulbs with ease. Plus it looks cool when you stand back and see the blue glow on the ceiling from the water reflected light.
This is the first coat of varnish. Looks like dust got on it but I will sand that right off tomorrow.

Im almost finished with this project. I just installed the Metal Halides, drilled the hole for the wires, stained the hole and top portion of the canopy, and set everything up so I can install the two T-6 Actinic Lights once the varnish dries on the inside of the canopy.
