Well at a minimum some Chaeto and a 6500K light on an alternate timer is a good start.
Depending on the size of your refugium you could also have a deep sand bed or even mangroves.
Personally I have some crushed live rock in mine that I rinse throughouly w/ fresh saltwater every few months to avoid detritus accumulation. I've heard decent reviews about "miracle mud" but haven't tried it myself.

thanks for the reply socalnano24, its funny u mention the miracle mud cause i know a girl who runs her own business, lfs, n swears by the stuff but its costly. i was told to install a 29 n i'm lookin at a overflow box too, this is all new to me.

You can make an overflow from pvc
see:

And use plastic storage containers for your refugium and sump.
Even more simply you can just add a partition about 3" in front of your back glass and a couple of utility fixtures behind the tank pointing forward. That way the chaeto and other macros plus pods and so on thrive protected in the area between the partition and back glass.
I used just a $10 lighting diffuser (egg crate) from the building supply places. And powerheads at the top to hold it off the back glass.
Just a couple of ideas.
worth at most .02
