Do you have Hallide lighting? Your corals are beautiful. It looks like you have a hairy shroom on the bottom? Maybe I should move mine down lower. It is not flourishing as everything else is, but it is only midway. I do not have hallides.

Thanks, think I will move my mushrooms down lower. Have a hairy one that used to be huge, all of a sudden it has remailned small for some time now. Will move that one also. Halide lighting is the best yet very expensive to install. Maybe someday. I've actinic. Really love the variety you have.

yea halides are very nice. Someday when I go bigger I will have to get halides..I have actinics also..The CSL moonlight,4x65w..I am very happy with it.Affordable and all you really need to have shrooms..I also have star polyps, and daisey polyps. They are all doing great and seem to be growing and spreading..and I just got my zoos today via fed ex..For most softies this light is all you really need.I have like 15 different kinds of shrooms in my tank since i took those last pics I will post my new ones..If your looking for very immaculent rics like mine drop me a line goinballdeep@yahoo.com..As far as your shroom shrinking..is your water params. in check? have you moved it recently? is there a bunch of flow pointing at it? and is your bulbs old?

You hit some of the questions about my shrooms on the nose. Have replaced two of my actinics, two more are waiting. I pay 40 bucks for each light here and am waiting for next month to replace them I was given misinfo.. on them whenfirst using them. We were told they last longer than other lights, over a year. Have found out through these forums that in fact they only last 7-8 months! Very upset about that. Two lights are old, and yes the rock the hairy is on does get a lot of movement. The rock is so large and difficult to place but I love the mushroom and must figure out a better place. Have the intake water turned for the most flow throughout , so can't change that or red slime sets in where there is not enough flow. The chemistry is fine. Do have a phosphate rise all the time due to our well water. But have had the hairy mushroom for 3 years. Back to lights; in ordering them through the mail, one always comes in broken so that is a bit discouraging. They are cheaper that way. An RO system is out of the question. Too expensive right now. Have had my tank for almost ten years. Like you I love mushrooms and your purple ones are gorgeous! To put some on the floor of the tank will have to do some moving around. The plate coral is so huge that it takes up most of the space at bottom. So, I will change those lights sooner than later. Thanks for your time in answering my letters.

Mary, I know what you mean about recieving broken bulbs..it sucks I just went trhu that last week..If I was you I would not use the well water...if there is a walmart or somewhere u can buy gallon containers of ro water that is best...u can usually get them for 40-60 cents a gallon...thats what i do I have no ro unit I just buy my water at walmart then mix it properly..My new purple shrooms i got yesterday are looking great i plan on getting some pics up today of all my new stuff...i just love this hobby..

Sounds like a great idea. I will go and check that out. Wall-mart is 15 minutes away. In that impurities have not lessened the quality of health obviously in your tank, I should fare as well.
