My buddy had to get rid of tank and he gave me his lighting and his ritteri anemone which he has had for about a year. He set up the lighting and put the anemone in my tank while I was at work. When I came home and looked the anemone seemed to be letting a clear liquid come out of its mouth. My buddy is on a plane to Australia so he is of no help. Nitrate-0, nitite-0, salinity-1.022, ph-8.2. He put it in my 55 which is about a year old. I don't know if this normal behavior but I'm worried that the "liquid" will affect my fish and inverts. I also have the lights on. If anyone could give me some advice on what to do I would appreciate it.

For now I would not worry about it. Mine(BTA) do that some times and what I think it is they are releasing egg and sperm. Keep us posted, but for now that change may have triggered it to do such. Riterri's are one of the toughest anenomes to keep. If your freind has had it for 1 yr it's pretty impressive. Please post a picture. Also let me know what your friend did. I breed clownfish and I "raise" anenomes. I would like to get one, but I have some reservations. Also what type of lighting/current do you have for it. Give approximate size as well. Some can reach over 3 feet in the wild. Most in aquariums do not reach more than 12-14 inches though. You should get 2 Ocellaris clowns for it. They love them.....Well they love each other. Good luck and keep me posted. Thanks
